Beeler Gallery and Columbus College of Art & Design’s Writing, Literature, and Philosophy department are hosting a poetry and prose reading by local poets reflecting on the influence of the Harlem Renaissance. Vernell Bristow, Marcus Jackson, and Negesti Kaudo will read from the work of key Harlem Renaissance figures, as well as from their own work. The event is free and open to the public and is part of citywide celebration, I, too sing America: The Harlem Renaissance at 100. It’s also happening on Downtown Art Sunday, an event that brings together downtown Columbus art spaces for a day of art.
