STUDENT HEALTH 101
The March issue of CCAD Student Health 101 is now available. Find out how to get smarter with your credit cards, and learn ways you can support a person who has been impacted by sexual assault. Also, thank you to all those who completed the CCAD Healthy Minds Study! You’ll hear more from us about the results in the coming months.

TWO DAYS, NO DAYTIME CLASSES
Student Progress Assessments are coming up on Tuesday, March 27, and Wednesday, March 28. That means all daytime classes are canceled on Tuesday, March 27, and Wednesday, March 28. Evening classes from 7 to 9:45 p.m. will still be held. A listing of SPA appointments is currently posted in the One-Stop. The library will be open both days from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Visit columbusfilmfestival.org to register for each screening you want to attend during the Columbus International Film & Animation Festival happening March 22 – 24. There are documentaries, narrative shorts, animated shorts, a feature-length animated film, Saturday Morning Cartoons from Around the World, and much more.
Click the “Get Tickets” button on the event you want to attend, order your tickets under the CCAD student option, and bring your student ID to the screening. On the day of the event, entry will be $2 with your student ID.
Be sure to stop by Beeler Gallery during the festival, too, where you can watch experimental films for free on loop after you catch the spring exhibition, which ends Sunday, March 25.

Bree Newsome is a musician, filmmaker, and contemporary civil rights icon who garnered national attention for climbing the flagpole at the South Carolina statehouse in 2015 and pulling down the Confederate flag as a protest against racist symbolism. Hear her impassioned message about racial equality and a discussion on how, with courage, zeal, and the support of others, ordinary people can make an extraordinary difference.
The event is free and happening in the Canzani Center Auditorium the evening of Wednesday, March 21. Visit ccad.edu/values to RSVP for Bree’s talk and for the informal post-event pizza discussion and Q&A just for students.

GET INSPIRED BY YOUR MFA PEERS
On view April 6 – 29, Collison: 2018 CCAD MFA Thesis Exhibition presents the work of CCAD’s 19 MFA candidates. Their works, which represent a year of research and studio practice, encompass such varied media and genres as painting, sculpture, photography, design, video, and animation. Plus, save the date for the exhibition’s opening reception on Friday, April 6, from 6 to 8 p.m.
A CREATIVE WRITING READING
Come out and support the invigorating creative writing scene here at CCAD. The Red Wheelbarrow series provides faculty and students the opportunity to share work in poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, comics, and screenwriting. The Tuesday, March 20, edition features readers Kat Geraci, Grace Oller, and Robin Knotts. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Canzani Screening Room.
