Don't miss bestselling auther Emily Spivack
New York Times bestselling author Emily Spivack will present a lecture will give a free talk at CCAD from11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, March 6. The event is free and open to the public. Spivack is the author of Worn Stories, a collection about clothing and memory; has served as an Artist-in-Residence for MoMA; and recently created an off-site installation for the Honolulu Museum of Art, Medium White Tee, which was a fulfillment of President Barack Obama’s stated fantasy to run a T-shirt shack that sold only medium-sized white tees as a respite from his nonstop decision-making.
And save the date for Bree Newsome
Bree Newsome is a musician, filmmaker, and contemporary civil rights icon who first garnered national attention for climbing the flagpole at the South Carolina statehouse in 2015 and pulling down the Confederate flag as a protest against racist symbolism.
To kick off the Columbus International Film & Animation Festival (March 22 – 24), join us to hear her impassioned message about racial equality and for a discussion on how, with courage, zeal, and the support of others, ordinary people can make an extraordinary difference. The event is free and happening in the Canzani Center Auditorium at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 21. RSVP now to save your seat!
Save your seat, save some cash at the Film Fest
CCAD students, staff, and faculty get into the Columbus International Film & Animation Festival (March 22 – 24) for free. But only if you sign up for screenings at columbusfilmfestival.org. (You'll need your CCAD ID number handy.) On the day of the screening, entry will be $2. The lineup this year is rad. Check it out.
