New Student Seminar

Students registered in New Student Seminar are required to complete two interactive online modules: Sexual Assault Prevention, an education program regarding sexual violence, and AlcoholEDU, which provides information on high-risk alcohol consumption, healthy relationships, and tools to define and promote healthy behavior. Expect to see emails about these programs from Maria D’Apolito, Director of Student Engagement, and from the modules themselves.

  • Sexual Assault Prevention is an interactive, online education program intended to help students learn about the prevalence, warning signs, function, effects, and ways to stop or get help regarding sexual violence.
  • AlcoholEDU is an interactive, online education program that educates students on high-risk alcohol consumption, healthy relationships, and tools to define and promote healthy behavior.

Both Sexual Assault Prevention and AlcoholEDU are broken into two parts: Part 1 runs Monday, July 23 through Thursday, Aug. 23; Part 2 runs Tuesday, Oct. 9, through Thursday, Nov. 8. Completing both parts of Sexual Assault Prevention and of AlcoholEDU is required of all incoming students, and both parts must be completed in order to pass New Student Seminar fall semester. Please note: International students will follow different deadlines than domestic students and should expect to hear more soon.

If you have any questions about CCAD policies, procedures, or support resources related to sexual violence, please email Vice President for Student Affairs & Title IX Coordinator Chris Mundell or Assistant Dean of Students Athena Sanders.

We understand members of our community are already survivors of sexual violence. If you or a friend would like a confidential place to discuss these issues or get support, email the CCAD Counseling & Wellness Center.

Have any questions on Sexual Assault Prevention or AlcoholEDU? Email Maria D’Apolito.
