We work hard and play hard in Columbus, and we love to fuel it all with coffee. New roasters have popped up all over the city in the last few years, and — lucky you — several are just a few minutes away from CCAD.
Brioso Roastery and Coffee Bar
Let your nose lead the way to the source of the toasty scent wafting over Grant Avenue toward campus. When you reach this new outpost of a Columbus favorite, you’ll be treated with more delight for the senses. You’ll hear the hum of the roaster, see fat burlap bags of green coffee beans, and feel the warm sun on your shoulders if you’re lucky enough to score one of the comfy chairs near the front window. And no matter what you choose from the short but sweet menu, you’re sure to have happy tastebuds, too. Check out the daily pour-over offerings or order one of the cafe’s famously beautiful lattes. 329 E. Long St.
Try this: Ohio Honey Latte
Coffee and social enterprise collide deliciously in this bustling space on Long Street. Roosevelt is a nonprofit organization that donates proceeds to causes that fight hunger, provide clean drinking water, and seek an end to human trafficking. This is one place where tossing change in the tip jar can lead to real change. Plus, Roosevelt is just a great place to hang out, with oversize tables perfect for meeting with friends to chat or study. 300 E. Long St.
Try this: Vietnamese Coffee
In the mood for a cuppa tea? Koko owner Ava Misseldine hand-blends the teas she sells in her new shop on the ground floor of The Seneca. Try Goji Pom Pom, French Lemon Cream, Latte Da, or Swan Creek, a blend of apples, black currants, lemon verbena, and berries. For something a little more substantial, go for a tea latte or bubble tea. When you’re inside, be sure to take a 360-degree view of the room where the cafe is located — it’s a former ballroom of what was once one of Columbus’ finest hotels. 361 E. Broad St.
Try this: Lavender Tea Latte
Head straight for the bakery counter inside this grocer that loves local producers. While you take in the dizzying array of treats from local makers like Pattycake, Destination Donuts, Sammy’s Bagels, and Bake Me Happy, order a Crimson Cup cold brew or a tall cup of iced green tea. Two of Crimson Cup’s nitro cold brews are on tap: Choose between Cacao Nib and Ethiopian Natural Sidamo Ardi. 95 N. Grant Ave.

DRINK COFFEE & GET CLOTHES
If you’re a coffee fiend, there’s a sweet free T-shirt in it for you. Here’s the program: Visit a participating Columbus Coffee Trail location. A few are near campus, and others will have you exploring Columbus neighborhoods — all part of the fun. Buy a drink. Ask for a Coffee Trail card. Get it stamped. Repeat at least three more times. Take the card with four or more stamps to an Experience Columbus visitors center. Retrieve said T-shirt. Enjoy bragging rights.
