In 2018, the year Medina turned 200 years old, its City Council began debating whether to extend the city’s anti-discrimination laws to protect the LGBTQ community.
Sarah Hoag, a first-year student at CCAD who is from Medina, is watching. "I want to come back to Medina and feel safe...in Columbus, when you’re walking down the street, no one cares if you are [LGBTQ]. That’s what I want for Medina.”
