Alumna wins Microsoft competition
Remember Industrial Design alumna Anousone Panyanouvong (2007) and her quest to win Microsoft’s “Make It Great” competition? Well, all her hard work (and your many votes) paid off in a big way this week when she was awarded $10,000 to make the New Year great.
Panyanouvong shared the good news on our Facebook writing, “Hi CCAD, many thanks for your support :D and all the votes !! My friend and I won the M.S contest!”
Contestants were asked to create a Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 presentation detailing how they would spend $10,000 to make 2011 a great year. Panyanouvong designed the plan for an urban forest, a system of exchanging plants within the community and following the plants progress using social media, with Phavanhna Douangboupha. The goal of the project is to bring nature indoors while also connecting with family, friends, and colleagues.
