Alumna's solo exhibition features famous faces
Alumna Samantha Bennett (CCAD 1995–1999) will have a solo exhibition, Scars Portraits and Beyond, at Hayley Gallery in New Albany, OH.
This is the Fine Art alumna's first solo exhibition at the gallery. Work in the show will include memorial portraits of famous people, cityscapes, and other pieces that reflect Bennett's personal journey.
Bennett paints with amputated fingers after surviving meningitis meningococcal disease at nine months of age. The artist's experience inspires her to create art for nonprofit groups such as the American Heart Association, the March of Dimes, and the National Meningitis Association.
Bennett also recently appeared on an episode of TLC’s NY Ink.
The opening reception is Feb. 11, 5–11 p.m. Bennett's work will be on view through March 9, 2012.
