Alumni reimagine classic James Thurber cartoons in exhibition
Columbus's past meets meets its present in Cartoon Carnival, an exhibition organized by the Thurber House, Sunday Comix, and Wild Goose Creative.
Twenty-four local artists, including seven CCAD alumni, pay homage to humorist, cartoonist, and Columbus native James Thurber in the exhibition by reinterpreting his cartoons and stories.
CCAD alumni in the exhibition are Media Studies Time-Based alumni Nate Lovett (CCAD 2000) and Lora Innes (CCAD 2002), and Illustration alumni Joel Jackson (CCAD 2004), Steve Steiner (CCAD 2004), Katherine Wirick (CCAD 2006), Jonathon Riddle (CCAD 2007) and Mat Calvert (CCAD 2010).
The exhibition runs through June 30 at Wild Goose Creative, 2491 Summit St., Columbus, OH, 43202.
Lovett is from Troy, OH (Troy High School); Innes is from Jeanette, PA (Hempfield Area Senior High School); Jackson is from Scottdale, PA (Southmoreland High School); Steiner is from Clarion, PA (Clarion Area Jr-Sr High School); Wirick is from Columbus, OH (home schooled); Riddle is from Harpster, OH (Upper Sandusky High School); and Calvert is from Delaware, OH.
