Alumni, students to be featured in diverse artistic showcase

RAW, an independent organization of artists from all over the world, will showcase 25 local artists, including several CCAD alumni and current students, on Feb. 26 from 7–11 p.m. at Skully's Music Diner.

The event, titled Pixels, will feature film, musical performance, a fashion show, an art gallery, performance art, and a featured hairstylist and makeup artist.

Advertising & Graphic Design senior Lara Al-Soudani heard about RAW a few years ago while living in Washington, D.C., and knew she wanted to be involved.

"[This showcase] is a great opportunity to expose underground artists from different mediums," said Al-Soudani, who will show her line of jewelry. "It's such an interesting juxtaposition of artists that collaborate and produce a multidisciplinary event, and almost anyone can get involved."

Participating CCAD alumni and students include Fashion Design alumna Madeleine Etter (CCAD 2009) from Marietta, OH (Marietta High School), Illustration alumnus Quinn Kellogg (CCAD 2010) from Webster, NY (Webster Schroeder High School), MFA candidate Jovanni Luna from Wenatchee, WA, MFA candidate Nevin Price-Meader from Freeville, NY, Advertising & Graphic Design senior Lara Al-Soudani from Columbus, OH, and Illustration senior Jean Paul Senior from Coral Gables, FL (Design & Architecture Senior High School).
