Alumnus featured in pre-retrospective exhibition
Works by alumnus Nathan Janes were featured in a pre-retrospective.
Works by Illustration alumnus Nathan Janes (CCAD 2001) were featured Saturday in the Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Councils, Winter Art Pre-Retrospective.
"We're calling this a 'pre-retrospective' because he's a young man,” said council treasurer Paul Berndt in an article by Port Clinton News Herald. “He's not a seasoned artist. We will probably have 15 to 20 pieces of his art on display. We will have a meet-and-greet and see how his work has progressed over his career to this point."
Janes is the driving force behind PUPAGANDA, activist artwork that depicts serious social issues using the family pet as muse. He has been chosen as a contributor to the newly published book, Art is Dead—A Manifesto for Revolution in the Visual Arts. He has also completed commissioned works for celebrities Pete Wentz and Caprice Bourret and has shown work in New York and Chicago.
