Alumnus illustrates 'New York Times Sunday Review'

Illustration alumnus John Malta (CCAD 2010) illustrated the front page of the The New York Times Sunday Review on Aug. 11.

The illustration, which is Malta’s fourth to appear in the paper, accompanies the article "High Culture Goes Hands-On" by Judith H. Dobrzynski. The article discusses how art museums are becoming more like theme parks with an increase in participatory exhibitions.

Malta is currently an assistant professor at the University of Central Missouri and maintains a freelance illustration career with clients including The New Yorker, The New York Times, Bloomberg View, Vice, AARP: Life Reimagined, The Washington Post, Pennsylvania Gazette, Columbus Alive, and Wrap Magazine UK.

Malta is from Willowick, OH, and attended North High School.
