Alumnus samples Steely Dan for experimental multimedia project

Advertising & Graphic Design alumnus Gabe Shultz (CCAD 2004) created an experimental multimedia project and music album Day Glow Freaks using only samples from the music of rock band Steely Dan.

Consisting of 12 original songs, Day Glow Freaks is accompanied by a website where listeners can visually explore the composition of each song.

“This homage, built from hundreds of samples of the band’s 82 studio tracks, is the result of a yearlong personal endeavor and is an expression of gratitude for a career of captivating music,” Shultz writes on the project’s website.
