Alumnus’s illustrations featured in Yo Gabba Gabba! anthology

David Crosland (CCAD '00) illustrated a short story by Kelly-Sue DeConnick for the soon-to-be-released Yo Gabba Gabba! Comic Anthology, based on the critically acclaimed Nickelodeon television series.

The anthology is a collaboration between Oni Press, W!LDBRAIN Entertainment, and the award-winning entertainment company and producers of Yo Gabba Gabba!. It is the first Yo Gabba Gabba! comic project and features characters DJ Lance Rock, the residents of his magic boombox, Brobee, Muno, Toodee, Foofa and Plex (as well as their Story Time pals).

Crosland works as a freelance illustrator in West Oakland, California and has created illustrations for musicians Jane's Addiction, Rufus Wainwright, Galactic, Incubus, Blueprint, and Gym Class Heroes. He has also created two lines of board designs for Ride Snowboards.

Illustrations by Crosland have been featured in magazines Spin, Venus, Tastes Like Chicken, Metro LA, and Time Out Chicago. His artwork can be seen in comic books Puffed, Kung Fu Bus-Boy, Slop, Everybody's DEAD, and Scarface: Scarred For Life. He has worked with Cartoon Network, Warner Brothers Animation, and Walt Disney Animation on concept pitches and character design work. Learn more about Crosland on his website.
