Alum's animated short to appear at Columbus Film Festival

Round up the kiddos and head to the Cazani Center Auditorium on Nov. 16 to catch Media Studies Time-Based alumnus Ben Neidenthal's (CCAD 2006) animated film A Sphere in Boxland.

The whimsical tale about a character who is the only sphere in a place made entirely of boxes will join other cartoon films during the Saturday Morning Cartoons event of the 61st Columbus International Film and Video Festival.

Neidenthal isn't new to CIF+V—one of his films was accepted in 2007 and in 2009 Neidenthal and his wife, fellow Media Studies Time-Based alumna Jessica Entis (CCAD 2006), served as judges.

"We are all very proud to be a part of [the festival]," Neidenthal said.

Started by the Columbus Film Council in 1952, the Columbus International Film and Video Festival is the longest-running event of its kind in the United States. The Chris Award, named after the capital city's namesake, Christopher Columbus, is the festival's top honor, given to one film each year.
