"Community Chandelier" by Daniel Hopper

Two pieces by Illustration alumnus Daniel Hopper (CCAD 1994) are in New West Coast Design 2 at the San Francisco Museum of Craft and Design.

Hopper’s pieces, a large chandelier and a side table, join dozens of works chosen for their significant contributions to the world of design.

From skateboards and single-speed bikes to water bottles and drinking vessels, furniture, toy houses, and lighting fixtures, New West Coast Design 2 focuses on the design process and how it is manifested by a wide variety of individuals—architects, industrial designers, interior designers, studio craft artists, and design groups working with advanced digital technologies.

The show is on display through Jan. 5 at the San Francisco Museum of Craft and Design located at 2569 Third St., San Francisco, 94107. Museum hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., Thursday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Sunday noon – 5 p.m.

Hopper attended Metro East Lutheran High School in Edwardsville, IL, and now lives in Oakland, CA.
