Artist Ryan “Yanoe” Sarfati talks murals, process, and healthy creativity
On Sept. 10, 2020, Los Angeles-based artist Ryan “Yanoe” Sarfati joined CCAD President Melanie Corn for the first President's Lecture Series conversation of the academic year. Their discussion focused on healthy creativity and how it leads to creative excellence. Sarfati shared his journey from graffiti artist to mechanical engineer to fine and commercial artist. He also shared insight into his creative process and stories about co-creating The Journey, one of Columbus’ tallest and most innovative mural projects, and the role meditation has played in transforming his life and helping him during the COVID-19 pandemic.
