Assistant Professor Carmen Winant receives arts fellowship

Congrats to artist Carmen Winant, Assistant Professor of History of Art & Visual Culture, who is among the recipients of the Greater Columbus Arts Council's 2017 Visual Arts Fellowship Awards.

Winant is among four winners chosen from 74 applicants. Each fellowship recipient will receive $5,000 and will be featured in an exhibition hosted by the Columbus Mueseum of Art in 2018. Click here for more details on the fellowship awards.

Winant is also part of weird woman, a group show curated by artist Sondra Meszaros, on view through Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Jarvis Hall Gallery in Calgary, Canada. Her recent exhibitions also include The Times, a show that uses The New York Times as a point of departure to address and reframe issues impacting everyday lives (and which received coverage in artnews and Artsy), which closed on July 11.

The artist is also featured in Photopaper 13, a monographic photo periodical presenting work nominated by invited experts.
