Big wins for CCAD at CSCA

Columbus College of Art & Design students took home some hefty hardware at the annual Columbus Society of Communicating Arts Creative Best Awards on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2018.

And nearly all of the winners are currently employed by the CCAD Student Agency—a student-staffed, in-house design agency—or have worked for the Student Agency in the past.

Among the winners was Lily Dent (Advertising & Graphic Design, 2019) who took home three awards, including Judge’s Favorite, Best in Category Student Print, and Best in Category Student Video for her concept of a Stetson Fragrance Campaign.

Josh Smukal (Film & Video, 2019) received an Award of Merit in the Professional category for his CCAD Stories video profiling Chelsea Funk (Fashion Design, 2018).

The Short North ArtPaths project, led by Alma Kim (Animation, 2020) also took home an Award of Merit in the Professional category. Kim was joined by Hailey Corrigan (Illustration, 2019), Thomas Tran (Illustration, 2018), Cydney Weidenbeck (Illustration, 2018), Chris Ramos (Animation, 2019), and Sidney Shaffner (Animation, 2020).  

Student Awards category wins for CCAD included:

  • Audrey Stemen (Advertising & Graphic Design, 2019): Award of Excellence for Campaign, Award of Merit for Print, and Award of Merit Student Merit
  • Justin Remotap (Advertising & Graphic Design, 2019): Award of Excellence for Digital, Award of Excellence for Print, Award of Merit for Print
  • Shane Richardson (Advertising & Graphic Design, 2018) and Teddy Viera (Advertising & Graphic Design, 2018): Award of Merit for Digital
  • Phoebe Davis (Advertising & Graphic Design, 2018): Award of Merit for Identity
  • Xin Liu (Advertising & Graphic Design, 2018): Award of Merit for Print
