Columbus College of Art & Design student Janelle Moorman (Film & Video, 2020) won a Gold Telly—the national competition’s highest honor—for her work on Bethany, a documentary short film she completed in Video III Advanced Production Class. The film, which was also selected for the Wexner Center's Ohio Shorts competition is a personal documentary exploring how a young woman’s life has been affected by the trauma of her mother’s suicide. The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens.

Moorman's film, which was nominated for a student Emmy, also was screened at the APA 2019 conference showcasing films that impact and inform the human condition, as well as the 2019 Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD) Symposium at the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles Nov. 7–9. You can also catch it at the Ethnografilm festival in Paris.
