Each year, Columbus College of Art & Design students celebrate the spooky season with activities, most notably its annual party and costume contest, Big Boo! But in 2020, with the COVID-19 pandemic making group gatherings unfeasible, the college’s Student Programming Board created a new way to mark the holiday, including creative contests, DIY crafts ideas, a suggested movie list for the season, drink menus, a trivia contest, and much more.
The Student Programming Board Presents: Spooky Week contest winners for 2020 were:
Costume Contest
- First place: Savanna Sheer (Illustration, 2021)
- Second place: Marcella Michalski (Animation, 2022) and Kay Brown (Illustration, 2022)
TikTok Contest
- First place: Amber Kovacs (Animation, 2022)
- Second place: Ronnie Mautner (Animation, 2024)
Pumpkin Carving Contest:

- Second place: Joey Anderson (Animation, 2021)
