CCAD grad receives residency in France
CCAD grad and urban landscape painter Kelley Booze (Fine Arts, 2009) received an international artist residency at Chateau d’Orquevaux in the historic province of Champagne, France.
Booze will travel to Champagne-Ardenne in October 2018 to participate in a 2-week immersive residency which gives participants private studio space with limited distractions to explore their artistic expression within the French countryside.
Booze says she finds inspiration in areas that have been forgotten, overlooked, or neglected. She is constantly constructing visual memories of remnants of the Rust Belt and how that reflects in human emotion.
Since she graduated from CCAD in 2009, Booze has been teaching painting and drawing at the Springfield Museum of Art and other various classes and workshops. Her work has been exhibited throughout the state and region and in 2016 was honored as a "Spotlight Featured Artist at the Ohio Governor’s Residence."
