CCAD names new Associate Vice President for Operations
Dave Stockwell became Associate Vice President for Operations at Columbus College of Art & Design in January 2019 after more than 32 years at CCAD, where he has held a variety of positions across the campus, working under President Joseph Canzani and in the Business Office. At CCAD, he has overseen building projects such as the Amelita Mirolo Fine Arts building renovation, the construction of the Loann Crane Center and Design Square Apartments, and the multiphase renovations to the Design Studios on Broad.
As Associate Vice President for Operations, Stockwell is responsible for planning, budgeting, and campus operations, including leading Facilities and Safety & Security. Prior to coming to CCAD, Stockwell was an Exhibit Designer and Project Manager at Stockwell Design Associates. Stockwell studied mechanical engineering at Ohio University, business administration at Franklin University, architecture at Columbus State Community College, and design at CCAD.
Stockwell’s connections to CCAD are many and run deep. His father, Bernie Stockwell, is credited with shaping the college’s industrial and interior design programs. His mother, Rachel Stockwell, authored CCAD, The First 100 Years; his sister, Laurinda Stockwell, graduated from CCAD; and his grandmother, Mable Wagner Stockwell, studied at CCAD in the early 1900s when it was called the Columbus Art School. His daughter, Amanda Stockwell, studied at CCAD as well.
