Columbus boutique hosts alumna's first trunk show
A Fine Arts alumna’s first trunk show is this September in Columbus and it will feature custom hand-tooled silk floral hairpieces.
Michelle Dick’s business, Mimi's Closet, is a multi-faceted company of four divisions, including custom bridal accessories (Mimi's Closet Bridal Accessories), handcrafted handbags (Mimi Baggage), children's clothing and accessories (Mimi's Kids), and Misc. Mimi, which encompasses fine art, print work, and miscellaneous arts and crafts.
Dick (CCAD 2008) has been in business since 2009 and operates out of Baker Hill, AL. After introducing her pieces in a Columbus store she began getting requests for custom wedding pieces so she decided to enter the bridal market. Now, Mimi's Closet is exclusive to Big Rock Little Rooster in Columbus, where the trunk show will be the entire month of September.
Dick's second trunk show will be hosted by the same boutique, 654 N. High St., in the Short North, for the entire month of December 2011. In the past, Dick has been invited to create pieces for a Vera Wang trunk show as well as other designers' trunk shows.
Recently, Mimi's Closet accessories were included in a photo shoot in the debut issue of Capital Style Bride magazine and also were featured on a segment about Big Rock Little Rooster on the TV show Daytime Columbus.
