Connecticut museum unveils installation by alumna

The New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, CT, announced the unveiling of an installation by Fine Arts alumna Soo Sunny Park (CCAD 1998).

The stainless steel and plexiglass piece, titled Boundary Conditions, will transform the LeWitt staircase and fill the space with transmitted, reflected, and refracted light, said an article on Artdaily.com.

“As a whole, the installation is neither the central form nor its shadows, but the structured space between them," Park said in the article. "Light, in this piece, does more than allow us to look at things."

An opening reception is scheduled for March 9 at the New Britain Museum of American Art, 56 Lexington St., New Britain, CT, 06052. Museum hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 11 a.m.–5 p.m., Thursday 11 a.m.–8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.–5 p.m., and Sunday noon–5 p.m.

Park is from Winter Park, FL, and attended Lake Howell High School.
