Downtown Art Sunday captures attention

Columbus’ first Downtown Art Sunday took place on Nov. 4, 2018, connecting eight downtown art venues for a day of art. This event included Columbus College of Art & Design’s Beeler Gallery, the Columbus Museum of Art, and the Riffe Gallery, among others.

The event was timed to the end of Daylight Savings Time and encouraged people to use their extra hour for art.

Each of the participating art institutions featured programming ranging from solo exhibitions to board game collections, and Beeler Gallery participated with a reading with three local poets and writers for I, Too Sing America: The Harlem Renaissance At 100, the launch of second shelf, and the continuation of the fierce pussy exhibition arms, ache, avid, aeon.

Organizers of the event tell The Dispatch that they hope to make the event an annual affair.
