Experienced HR leader joins CCAD
Veteran human resources leader Linda Simpson is joining Columbus College of Art & Design, effective Sept. 29, 2017.
Simpson previously worked as Chief Human Resources Officer for Tosoh America, the U.S.-based shared services provider for a Tokyo-based chemical company. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of Human Resources for OhioHealth Grant Medical Center and Doctors Hospital and Vice President of Human Resources for Lexis Nexis Global Product Development.
Simpson said she’s excited to be part of CCAD.
“I am absolutely thrilled to join the CCAD family of talented teaching and administrative professionals doing such commendable work educating our nation’s best and brightest artists,” Simpson said. “The school is truly a gem, and I’m excited about becoming a part of it.”
Simpson will report to Jeff Fisher, who said he’s thrilled to have her on board.
“Linda has an impressive history as a human resources leader,” Fisher said. “She has proven track record of aligning HR with strategic initiatives. And she will be a great asset to CCAD.”
Simpson has led HR teams with broad international reach in Japan, England, Germany, China, and South Korea. She started her human resources career serving automotive manufacturing employees at Honda and Toyota Denso.
She has a master’s degree in organization development from Western Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kalamazoo College.
Simpson lives with her wife in Dublin, Ohio. They have three children who attend Bowling Green State University (Digital Art), The Ohio State University (Political Science, Psychology, and Public Affairs), and The University of Michigan (Molecular Biology). In her free time, Simpson enjoys spending time with family in Ohio and where she grew up in northern Michigan.
