Faculty, alumnus has solo show in New York
Drawing & Printmaking Chair and Fine Arts alumnus Robert Robbins (CCAD 1990) has a solo exhibition, Frondescence, at the Bowery Gallery in New York, NY, July 9–27, with an opening reception July 11, 5–8 p.m.
Robbins’ paintings depict imagined places that draw the viewer into the environment on the canvas. Unlike traditional landscape paintings, this series of work portrays a small, very dense section of a natural space.
Robbins’ work has been shown nationally and internationally, including at the Butler Institute of American Art, the Chateau in Rochefort-en-Terre, the Springfield Museum of Art, and the Florida State University Museum of Contemporary Art. His work is in private and public collections including the Ohio State University, the Nord Family Foundation, and the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
