Columbus College of Art & Design has named accomplished finance and strategic planning leader Tom Dotson as CCAD’s new Associate Vice President for Finance & Administration.

Dotson comes to CCAD after spending more than a decade at NetJets, serving in a number of roles including Senior Financial Analyst, Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, and Vice President for Strategic Initiatives. He will start in his new position at CCAD on May 1, 2019, and will report to Vice President for Administration & Operations Lisa Stoneman.

“Tom’s years of experience as a leader in finance and strategic planning make him a valuable asset to CCAD,” Stoneman said. “He has extensive experience with budgeting, forecasting, market analysis, and strategic planning, and we look forward to having him on board at the college.”

At CCAD, Dotson will oversee the college’s finances after Senior Vice President for Finance & Planning Jeff Fisher retires on June 30, 2019, after 36 years with the college.

“I was really impressed by Tom’s enthusiasm for CCAD and our community,” Fisher said. “I remember being same way when I came to CCAD. I worked for a Fortune 500 company for a few years, and then I found this place and couldn’t leave.”

In addition to managing the college’s finances, Dotson will also oversee CCAD’s business department, human resources department, and some auxiliary services.

Dotson comes to CCAD as the college celebrates its 140th anniversary, and he said he looks forward to setting the college up for financial success for the future.

“I’m really excited to be a part of the CCAD community,” Dotson said. “It’s so energizing to be around the talented students, faculty, and staff, and I can’t wait to help CCAD execute its strategic plan and build an institution that is sustainable for the next 140 years.”

Dotson, who lives in Bexley with his wife and two young sons, enjoys baking bread, spending time with his family, and watching soccer. (He has been a Columbus Crew season ticket holder since 2005.)

He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Dayton and a Master of Business Administration from The Ohio State University.
