Fine Arts seniors finalists in competition
Columbus College of Art & Design students Sadie Baumker and Destiny Ryan (both Fine Arts, 2020) have been named finalists for the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio’s Award for Excellence in the Visual Arts. The award is the nation’s first intercollegiate online arts competition, recognizing outstanding students from the art programs at independent colleges and universities throughout Ohio.
Seniors attending AICUO member institutions are nominated by their department chairs or deans for the awards. After two rounds of judging, the artist with the highest score is given the Grand Award. Nominees’ work is on view on the AICUO Art Award website through February and March. During that time, the public is invited to vote for an individual for the People’s Choice Award. The six award winners present their work at the annual AICUO Award reception on Tuesday, March 31, at Denison University. All award winners receive a prize package, and the Grand Award winner will receive an additional cash award.
