Illustration alumnus receives portrait award

Illustration alumnus Jack Montmeat (CCAD 2002) received a Certificate of Excellence award from the Portrait Society of America for his painting "The Girl in Red."

Montmeat spent several months on the award-winning oil painting and said that he learned much of what he knows about portraiture from classes and professors at CCAD.

The Portrait Society of America exists to foster and enhance an understanding of traditional fine art portraiture and figurative works through portfolio reviews, national conferences and organized exhibitions and by giving out awards.
