Illustration student uses comics to cope
When CCAD Illustration Junior Mackenzie Fields was a teenager, she was sexually assaulted.
She developed an anxiety disorder, and to cope, the Hamilton, Ohio, native created comics.
Fields recently published a graphic novel called FriendQuest that uses metaphors to tackle sexual assault.
Her hometown newspaper, The Journal-News, wrote about her book, which she’ll be selling from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at S.P.A.C.E. (Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo) at the Northland Performing Arts Center (4411 Tamarack Blvd.).
