Live Local: Learn Local hits Columbus media

Columbus College of Art & Design and other two- and four-year central Ohio colleges and universities have a message for students: in uncertain times: The Columbus area is a great place for an education that will take you places.

Columbus City Council President Shannon G. Hardin moderated a virtual panel with the presidents of the seven colleges Wednesday, May 20.

Colleges want to accommodate students, and in some cases, that includes accepting applications even past the June 1 application deadline.

“For all of us, it’s probably safe to say, don’t make a decision based on some written rule on a website without having a conversation,” said Melanie Corn, president of Columbus College of Art & Design, reported The Columbus Dispatch. “Because I think we’re all incredibly understanding, accommodating institutions and individuals who want to make this work for folks.”

The press conference was also picked up by such broadcast outlets as NBC.
