Local gallery to feature CCAD alumni illustrators
ROY G BIV Gallery will show the work of CCAD alumni John F. Malta (Illustration 2010) and Nichole Senter (Photography 2010) in GOOD GRIEF June 7–28.
The exhibition will feature installations, posters, drawings, and paintings by the CCAD alumni alongside work by Michael Marine, longtime friend of Malta and Senter. The three have been collaborating on comics and zines for the last ten years.
Malta will show a giant spider installation. He has had illustrations published in The Washington Post, The New Yorker, The New York Times, and, most recently, The Programmatic Mind, a quarterly magazine that serves as an educational resource for programmatic marketers.
Senter will show a series of daily comics about her character Baron von Badtooth. The exhibition will include an installation of the Baron's living room complete with Victorian family portraits painted by Senter.
An opening reception for GOOD GRIEF will be held June 7 from 7–10 p.m. at ROY G BIV Gallery, 997 N. High St., Columbus, OH, 43201.
Malta is from East Cleveland, OH (North High School) and Senter is from Pickerington, OH (Pickerington High School North). The two live in Kansas City, MO.
