Nature inspires alumna's handmade jewelry

Adjunct Instructor of Liberal Arts and Fine Arts alumna Anne Holman (CCAD 2002) was a semi-finalist in a jewelry design challenge sponsored by UncommonGoods, an online marketplace offering creatively designed, high quality merchandise.

Participants were tasked with creating a piece of jewelry that told an exciting story using unique, unexpected materials.

Hand carved and cast in Holman’s studio, the recycled sterling silver ring that she entered in the competition was inspired by the Rocky Mountains.

“It evokes dreams of frozen ice caps and the geometry of Earth’s treasures,” Holman said on her website. “Sculpted one-at-a-time, each ring is absolutely one-of-a-kind and unique.”

Holman has exhibited her work at art fairs and festivals across the United States and sells her jewelry online and in shops all over the world.

Holman is from Hudson, OH, and attended Hudson High School.
