New alumna's animated short to light up screen at NYC event

Recent Animation alumna Sarah Schmidt's animated short Space Puppy (In Space) was one of 10 submissions selected for the Midsummer Night Toons VI animation event and screening in New York City on June 20.

The animated short began as a final project for a class during her junior year at CCAD. Schmidt devoted the next summer to polishing the thumbnails into digital storyboards and worked on animation, background paintings (created by Illustration senior Kevin Deasey), and sound throughout her senior year.

The 2014 alumna currently works for S77, a creative design and motion graphics company in Columbus, OH.

Schmidt is from Johnstown, OH (Johnstown-Monroe High School) and Deasey is from Island Lake, IL (Carmel High School).
