CCAD Animation hits Good Day Columbus, a New York Times-bestselling Illustration grad visits town for a book-signing, and alumni art exhibitions, from San Francisco to Massachusetts and points between.

A good day for Columbus made for an early morning for CCAD’s Animation team, who shared what they’ve been up to in a live broadcast from Fox28’s Good Day Columbus. Animation Chair Charlotte Belland, Assistant Professor Jeremy Baker, and Program Coordinator Bekah Nunn demonstrated techniques such as gesture drawing and technology such as motion capture during the televised segments. Richard Cowdrey (Illustration, 1981), who has made waves with his art for such books as Fiona the Hippo (about the Cincinnati Zoo’s Internet sensation) and the New York Times bestseller Bad Dog, Marley will present drawing demos and sign books at the 2018 Columbus STEM & Arts Expo on Saturday, Nov. 17. The Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River, Massachusetts is presenting its sixth annual poster exhibition through Nov. 30. Among this years’ artists is Methane Studios (aka CCAD grads Mark McDevitt and Robert Lee, both Illustration, 1989), who, said the Herald News, developed their tight bond during college together.
