Inka Essenhigh (Fine Arts, 1991) and partner Steve Mumford sat down for a beer — and an interview — with Hyperallergic, which said of both artists “their work … can be at once an invitation, and a provocation — to see the extraordinary in the ordinary, and vice-versa.” Read more here.
Before becoming an artist — and before discovering his allergies to furry creatures — Michael McConnell (Fine Arts, 1999) wanted to be a veterinarian. Now he makes paintings featuring humans with animal heads and owns Fayes Cafe in San Francisco. McConnell recently spoke to Bay Area publication 7x7 about his work as an artist and a cafe owner. Artist collective The Black Infinity, founded by Fine Arts Visiting Faculty and Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design Fellow Tosha Stimage (Fine Arts, 2011), received ink from Columbus Alive for its first exhibition, The Black Infinity, The Beginning of Never Ending, on view at No Place Gallery, through Saturday, Dec. 23. Among those with work in the show are Tyler Davis (Fine Arts, 2018) and Cameron Granger (Cinematic Arts, 2006). Read more here.
