Advertising & Graphic Design Adjunct Instructor Matt Vojeck, principal of Zwelly, was recently the subject of an Adweek feature on the making of the second edition of his card game, The Game of Creativity. Read more here.

Associate Professor Julie Abijanac (Fine Arts, 1992) is the subject of a feature in April’s Columbus Monthly about upcoming exhibitions of work by her and other Columbus-area artists in Cuba. Read more here.

Manjari Sharma (Photography, 2004) showcased the latest work from her current project, The Shower Series, and a sampling of her past work, including an interactive video installation at the Squire Foundation in Santa Barbara, California, where she is the Spring Artist in Residence. Read more here.

WOSU Public Media previewed On Board(hers), a dance work about immigration by Ohio State University Newark Assistant Professor Lucille Toth, which had a free, public rehearsal on Thursday, March 28, at Beeler Gallery. Read more here.

Grace Oller (Fine Arts, 2020) and Julie Green and Regina Zehner (both Studio Art with an Emphasis in the History of Art & Visual Culture, 2020) will showcase their project, In the Essence, as part of a curatorial residency at the Second Sight Project in Franklinton for the month of April. The interdisciplinary installation looks at how architecture, abstraction, and archival work intersect with the politics embedded within place and placelessness. A reception celebrating their work will be held on Saturday, April 20, from 7 to 10 p.m. Read more here.

The 2019 CCAD Fashion Show nabbed the attention of Columbus Monthly (including a mention on the cover), which profiled the show's designers, their models, and some of their most eye-catching designs. Check your newsstand for the April issue!

Derick Whitson (Photography, 2014) was named one of 10 En Foco 2019 Photography Fellowship winners. In addition to the $1,000 award the Fellowship recipients will participate in the 2019 Fellowship Group Exhibition (opening Wednesday, June 19, at the Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos in Bronx, NY) and will be featured in En Foco’s Spring/Summer issue in print and online editions. Alicia Jean (AJ) Vanderelli (Fine Arts, 2008), who owns and operates The Vanderelli Room in Franklinton, is now Art Director at the neighboring 400 West Rich. Read more here.

PillowFight!: an installation will take over the 400 West Rich galleries on Saturday, April 6, in an event by Art Director AJ Vanderelli and  Community Director Stephanie McGlone (Fine Arts, 2014), in conjunction with International PillowFight Day. The Smithery, a store and workshop space in Grandview owned by Anne Holman (2002, Fine Arts) and Jen Townsend (2010, Fine Arts) is expanding. The studio and workshop space is moving to a new location, at 1365 Grandview Ave., and the existing location at 1306 Grandview Ave. will double its retail space. Read more here.

On Friday, April 5, from 7 to 10 p.m. 934 Gallery plays host to the opening reception for the 22nd Annual Art of Illustration Show, a juried exhibition of work by CCAD’s Illustration Student Collective.
