President Melanie Corn designs one-of-a-kind Art Nouveau bracelet
CCAD President Melanie Corn is one of three Central Ohio arts leaders who partnered with the Diamond Cellar this spring to create jewelry pieces to auction off to raise money for their respective institutions.
Dr. Corn designed a bracelet to celebrate CCAD’s 1879 founding and her love for Art Nouveau. Her piece incorporates oxidized black silver, high-polish silver and black and white diamonds. The bracelet was auctioned off for $2,500 during this year’s Fashion Show, with proceeds supporting CCAD.
The Diamond Cellar, an independent jewelry store with four locations in Columbus, partnered with Corn and two other arts leaders as a way to celebrate the city’s art offerings. BalletMet Artistic Director Edwaard Liang worked with the Diamond Cellar to design a ring, and Opera Columbus Director Peggy Kriha Dye designed a necklace.
