Retrospective of alumna’s work opens January 15

Midwest Flower Child: Styles, Stages, Series, a retrospective of the works of alumna Mary Ann Sullivan (CCAD 1974), opens Friday, Jan. 15 at Galleria Evangelia in Columbus, OH.

The Southwest Native American influence of pattern, stylization, and underlying myths serve as frequent inspiration for the works of Sullivan. She has also recently explored portraiture as it relates to literature and neo-primitive assemblages.

Sullivan’s work has been inducted into the Society of Illustrators and has been featured in American Artist magazine. She has exhibited for the Columbus Art League, the Spangler Cummings and Rebecca Kuhn galleries in Columbus, and El Teller Gallery in Taos, New Mexico.

An Opening Artist's reception will run from 7–9 p.m. on Jan. 15 with live jazz music by Joey Blake's Hot Sax. The exhibition closes February 19. For more information visit the galleria’s website.
