From the runway to Macy’s windows

Eight outfits that made their debut at the 2019 CCAD Fashion Show are on view in the windows of Macy’s Easton Town Center through June 30, 2019.

The looks were designed and created by Columbus College of Art & Design graduates Meilin (April) Chen, Melissa Marchi, Wes Mills, and Alanta Slone (all Fashion Design, 2019) for the annual CCAD Fashion Show, which raises money for student scholarships.

Macy’s, a longtime sponsor of the CCAD Fashion Show, has displayed CCAD student work in its windows at Easton for several years, and Suzanne Cotton, Chair of CCAD’s Fashion Design program, says it’s a great opportunity for students.

“It’s an honor to have Macy’s want to put your work in the window,” she says.

Marchi says she’s grateful for the opportunity to have her work on view in Macy’s windows.

“To me, Macy’s is one of the largest and most iconic department stores of all time,” she says. “It’s surreal to think that my work is in the window display of a store that has been around since 1851. I think it’s so cool for Macy’s to want to collaborate and feature new, emerging designers.”
