Chillicothe native Sarah Moore (Advertising & Graphic Design, 2017) has the business, SmooreDesign, retailing the kind of gifts that make the holidays great. You can find her work — paper goods, cards, notebooks, calendars, prints, and enamel pins at prices ranging from $4 to $40 — at Columbus College of Art & Design’s Art Fair on Saturday. Dec. 3. Get more of Moore on her website and on Instagram, and on her personal website; read more from her below:

What’s your artistic philosophy or perspective behind your work?

I really enjoy making things that people like and have a use for! When I was a kid, I sold drawings and jewelry I made at a makeshift booth at the end of my driveway. I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and it’s really taken off my senior year. My creations typically are designs I do for fun, for the sake of making things and sharing them with others.

Why did you want to participate in the CCAD Art Fair?

Last year was my first fair, and I had so much fun! I loved knowing that some of my product was being bought as Christmas gifts, and that my designs would be a part of their holiday morning. I'm definitely excited to do it again!

How has your CCAD education influenced the work you will be offering for sale?

It's definitely shaped everything. Before my time here, I had zero experience in the Adobe programs, with which I use to create the majority of my designs now. Thanks to CCAD, I've been able to expand my creativity through different mediums and really find a style and voice for my work.
