About the presentation:

Systemic poverty is a chronic challenge in urban cities around the nation. Social challenges, such as infant mortality, hunger, violent crime and low-performing education, are just symptoms of systemic poverty. Many of these challenges cause teens to become disengaged with school and life. This research looks at opportunities for the Adams Center facility to bridge socio-economic gaps by incorporating interest-driven learning in community center programing. The goal is to identify spatial and programming solutions that might increase the effectiveness of engaging at-risk youth.
