In celebration of Black History Month in February—and its own 20th birthday—CCAD’s Black Student Leadership Association, has planned a month loaded with activities for students, including a Spirit Week Monday, Feb. 19–Friday, Feb. 23.

Spirit Week plans

Market Monday, Monday, Feb. 19
- Support Black businesses by patronizing area Black-owned businesses
Artist Trade Tuesday, Tuesday, Feb. 20
- Trade artwork with your fellow CCAD artists
Royalty Wednesday, Wednesday, Feb. 21
- Wear your best gear and dress like royalty
#Throwback90s Thursday, Thursday, Feb. 22
- Go retro by dressing in 90s fashion
Black Out Friday/Exhibition opening, Friday, Feb. 23
- Go all-black-everything—wear all black
- The Art Gallery, a show from RA Essence—aka Essence Estremera (Interior Architecture & Design, 2024)—will feature a timeline of Black art from the 1950s to today, video work, and select art for sale. Location TBA.
