Columbus College of Art & Design grad David Hovey (Illustration, 2009) will discuss his creative work and his career in an online conversation 6:30–7:30 p.m. (EDT) Tuesday, March 30. Hovey, who worked in traditional media as a CCAD student, pivoted to digital painting after graduation, but continues to bring traditional sensibilities to his practice today. Currently a Media Designer at McGraw-Hill Education, Hovey has worked for such companies as Victoria's Secret, Abbott, Fantasy Flight Games, Catalyst Games, and the Ohio Lottery. His favorite projects include Arkham Horror, Star Wars, and especially his illustrations for a textbook version of Mark Twain's Tom Sawyer, for which he received the Columbus Society of Communicating Arts Best Illustration award in 2020.
Hovey's talk is open to CCAD alumni, students, faculty, and staff. Advance registration is required. To learn more about David Hovey, visit davidroberthovey.com.
