Latin American Heritage Month: El Día de los Muertos

A day of honoring the dearly departed, el Día de los Muertos gathers family and friends to pay respects to loved ones and cherish moments with the living. Learn more about the holiday (abd how it’s not just “Mexican Halloween”) with us on the Quad during lunch as we create traditional crafts.

The Latin American Student Planning Committee has organized a month of events to celebrate Latin American Heritage Month! Stop by events to learn more about various Latin American cultures and their traditions and collect limited edition trading cards featuring art from our committee!

- 11 a.m.–noon Tuesday, Oct. 8 | Velitas, Faroles, y Más: Lantern Making Traditions of Central America (in collaboration with the Product Design Collective)
- 11 a.m–noon Wednesday, Oct. 9 | Poetry workshop with Paloma Martinez-Cruz
- 5–7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 | Carnaval: A Celebration of Life
