Columbus College of Art & Design welcomes artists, designers, and CCAD alumni Amy and David Butler for this fall’s President’s Lecture at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3. The Butlers, who reside in Granville, Ohio, will join CCAD’s president, Dr. Melanie Corn, in a conversation about what it means to be an artist and designer in central Ohio today, including a discussion on their personal growth and the process of charting their paths forward while evolving as professionals and individuals. That conversation will include a discussion on the “snowball effect” of creating opportunities that build upon each other; the outdated idea that you must live on the coasts, or a large city, to reach an audience; how to create and develop your own opportunities; and the ways in which creatives can move toward what moves them.
