Location

The Quad (rain location: Crane Center, Third Floor)

CCAD community members are invited to the Sexual Violence Awareness & Empowerment Fair, part of #UOKCCAD activities. Plans for the fair include:

  • Activities:
    • Therapy Dogs: CCAD’s favorite therapy dogs from Therapy Dog International are returning to offer support, cuddles, and relaxation. Join them on the Quad for some snuggles and joy!
    • Coloring for a Cause: Come by and color a poster to boost awareness. Posters to be displayed in Crane Center.
    • Coping Cards: Let’s get creative! Create a coping card for your fellow students to be reproduced and made available through the Counseling & Wellness Center.
    • Quiet Area: We will provide a low-sensory area with tables and blankets to get out of the sun, disengage, and use some provided stim toys.
  • Tabling resources:
  • Know Your IX: Get information about CCAD’s Title IX process, resources for how to support survivors, reporting options, and more!
  • Equitas Health: A member of the Equitas Health team will be available for you to learn more about safe sex practices, LGBTQ+ mental health and physical health treatment, and options for health insurance. Stop by to ask questions and find support from their new Community Financial Counselor!
  • BRAVO: The Buckeye Region Anti-Violence Organization will be available for information on community programs for survivor advocacy, and support to LGBTQI survivors of hate and bias violence, discrimination, intimate partner violence, stalking, and/or sexual assault.
  • SARNCO: Sexual Assault Response Network of Central Ohio joins us with information about healthy relationship dynamics. Stop by to discuss how to spot red and green flags in relationships and learn how to create safety in the connections you create with others.
  • Planned Parenthood: Planned Parenthood will be available for you to ask questions about their services, learn about consent and more. They will also be providing sexual health items such as condoms.

In addition, CCAD will host Take a Stand at noon, Wednesday, April 5, on the Quad (rain or shine). The CCAD community is encouraged to gather together in a moment of silence as we stand in solidarity with survivors—and against sexual violence.
