Stop Motion Animation Demo

Stop Motion is a weird term… it’s like calling something Cease Continue, Halt Go, or even Dead Life. But when you understand that animation is based upon a simple paradox (that still frames create the illusion of motion and even life) you can create an infinite variety of imagery.

This Friday, November 2, at 3:30 p.m., Professor Gavrilo Gnatovich will give a demonstration in our new Stop Motion Lab (DSB 134) of Dragonframe, lighting, camera techniques and setting up a stop motion project. If you haven’t had the chance to check out this state-of-the-art space and you’re interested in learning some basics about Experimental Animation, you might want to attend and dip your toe in the warm water of the Stop Motion Swimming Pool!

This event is open to all majors!
